The 2014 GHS Spring Fair

You can purchase tickets (bracelets for unlimited games, tickets for food, raffle tickets) from Lisa Peters this week (and raffle tickets from your student help them win the prizes!!).

Next week, students will be selling at drop off and pick up. You can also buy tickets during the Fair.

Board of Trustees Committees

The GHS Board of Trustees oversees several administrative committees whose members provide professional services and management assistance to GHS by contributing very specific skills.  The committees are called into action when needs arise, then “stand down” when their services are not in immediate demand.  The committee chairperson acts as the Board Liaison to keep the Board informed of activities and progress throughout the year.

Technology Committee

The Technology Committee provides advice and recommendations to the board and administration regarding the development of GHS technology on campus.  This includes short-term and long-term strategies for technology acquisition, training and implementation for all community constituiencies (i.e. the administration, faculty, students and parents).  The ultimate goal is to create an overall edutional environment that prepares our students for success in a world of ever-changing and evolving global technology.

Parent Organization

The GHS Parent Organization has the primary function of building a strong and vibrant GHS community.

The PO is divided into two branches:  (1) Community Events; and (2) Room Parents.

The Community Events branch is responsible for planning and delivering so many of the events we have come to know and love at GHS.

The Room Parent Branch branch is comprised of one or two representatives from each class, who serve as the primary communication link between the parents, the teachers, the Administration and the Parent Organization.  Through the Room Parents, families connect with each other, the faculty, the staff and the larger GHS community.

We are looking for volunteers to help who have great people skills!  This is a great way to get to know tons a fabulous GHS parents and make a huge difference in our community!

Marketing Committee

marketingThis committee develops and implements a marketing strategy to attract mission-appropriate students to the school and to retain those students through 8th grade.  They develop strategy -- by defining the GHS brand and refining marketing themes, action plans, and collateral; they conduct research and continual tracking of the effectiveness of various marketing methods; they promote positive external and internal relations -- deverloping external partnerships by fostering long-term relationships with area media outlets, community leaders, area schools, businesses and community groups, and promoting internal relations by working with various GHS constituencies to promote coordination and consistency of "on brand" communications in every aspect of school activities.

We are looking for volunteers who have training or experience in marketing, graphic design or production, copy writing, advertising, marketing research, public relations, journalism, and database management.  These backgrounds are helpful but not necessary.

Finance Committee

The purpose of the Finance Committee is to oversee the financial managementof the school, to ensure that sound financial planning and control policies are implemented, and to inform the Board of the financial status of the school. 

Intersted parties should have a background in financial planning, budgeting or accounting.
