Mrs. Losey has had vast educational experiences during her 35 years as an educator. Upon graduation from the University of Arizona, she taught school in Tucson. She then moved to Albuquerque, New Mexico where she implemented the first classroom for Learning Disabled children in the Albuquerque School District. After moving to Fresno she continued teaching, became a Vice Principal and had various other administrative assignments until her appointment as principal.
Mrs. Losey has been a principal in a variety of school settings: both large and small K-6 campuses, a large multi-tract year round school, a very popular K-8 magnet school (became a CA Distinguished School while she was principal), and prior to her retirement opened the first K-6 Charter School in Fresno. Upon retirement, Mrs. Losey served as a principal coach to principals new to their positions and later began working as a consultant in the private sector focusing on curriculum, assessment and leadership development.
As a professional educator, Mrs. Losey’s primary focus is on the well-being and academic success for all students. She focuses on maintaining a positive environment among faculty, staff and community through systematic, two way communication. Articulation and adherence to the school’s goals and objectives and ensuring/supporting implementation of these goals with the faculty, staff and community is a priority to Mrs. Losey. She is glad to be serving as principal at Golden Hills School.
