Tour Information:
The first step in the admissions process is to tour the Golden Hills School Campus. To schedule a tour, call Golden Hills School at 916-933-0100. Tours are generally given between the hours of 8:30 A.M. and 3:00 P.M.
Application for Admission:
The second step in the admissions process is to complete the application for admission. Transcripts and Standardized Test Scores (when applicable) will be submitted along with the application fee of $25.
Testing and Interview:
The final step in the admissions process is for the prospective student to complete an assessment process. Our admission policy requires that students meet certain entrance requirements at different grade levels.
Junior Kindergarten and Kindergarten
Prospective students will complete a readiness assessment which includes the ability to follow multiple step verbal instructions, with one of our professionals.
The prospective junior kindergarten student will be four years old by September 1 and the prospective kindergarten student will be five years old by September 1.
First Grade
Prospective students will complete a first grade assessment which includes reading, writing and arithmetic with one of our professionals. In addition, students are assessed on their ability to follow multiple step verbal instructions. This, combined with shadow day visits, teacher observations, report card review, and administrative input, completes the assessment process.
The prospective student will be six years old by September 1 and will have completed a kindergarten program.
Second through Eighth Grade
The administration will review the prospective student’s standardized test scores and report cards for the previous two years.
Prospective students will attend a shadow day and be administered a grade level screening. This, combined with teacher observations, report card review, and administrative input, completes the assessment process.
