The GHS Board of Trustees is charged with managing GHS, whose purpose “is to provide an education that enables students from junior kindergarten through eighth grade to acquire a foundation of academic, social and cultural skills for lifelong achievement.” The Board has nine authorized directors, and we are actively seeking new members.
Trustees are most often parents of current GHS students, though they can also be parents of alumni or members of the surrounding community. Because the Board fulfills a critical business purpose, the Board seeks members who have a wide range of business experience and perspective. This is a wonderful way to help shape GHS for the benefit of our current enrollment -- as well as the benefit of many generations of students to come!
The Board oversees the activities of the nine Administrative Committees. These committees are discussed in the dropdown menu under the "Parent" section of the Homepage. Click Volunteer -- Administrative Committees to learn more.
If you are interested in Board service, please any of the Board members listed below. They can answer any questions you have and provide you with an application.

The Trustees typically meet at 4:30pm on the second Wednesday of each month at the school. Please check beforehand as dates can change.
Each Board member has the responsibility of taking the lead oversight role on a GHS Committee. Typically this responsibility is assigned as a result of a particular skill set, training or experience that a member brings to the board. The Board members oversee the following committees:

Please review our updated and enhanced Strategic Plan for Golden Hills School. This is a pdf file that you can download and print if you desire. The strategic planning process was initiated in October of 2008 and continues to be a main driver of our trustees' decisions and actions. This is a living document that will change as circumstances and our enviornment change. The updated plan was developed by the strategic planning commitee after an all day planning session in September 2009. This year the Strategic Planning session will take place in October.
The participants in the planning session consist of Board Trustees, administrative staff and teachers, and a cross section of parents. Parents are selected by The Planning Committee based upon experience, school volunteer activities, and previously expressed interest in additional school involvement. If you would like to know how you can help GHS make progress toward our goals, please talk to a trustee or Jean about the various parent committees and consider giving some of your time in this capacity. Together, we will continue to help Golden Hills School navigate the future successfully. Thank you so much for all your efforts.
