Each school year, students interested in participating in GHS sports must have their physician complete a GHS Athletic Program Participation & Medical Treatment Information form. This form is part of the GHS Athletics Registration & Physical form and only needs to be completed once each academic year. The Athletics Registration & Physical Forms can be found in the Parents section on the Information Bar above under Forms.
A student must also complete the GHS Athletics Registration form for each sport in which s/he will participate. |

GHS completed another successful year in athletics. The 8th grade girls volleyball team had the most successful season in GHS history with a 8-1 regular season record and a 2nd place finish at the league tournament. Both the wrestling squad and track team had historic seasons as well; garnering the most medals in school history in their respective league finals. The 7th grade flag football team finished the regular season with a very fine record of 5-2 and look very promising for the upcoming season in the fall. After a hiatus of a few years, GHS fielded a 7th grade boys volleyball team with great success finishing 3rd place at the league tournament. These are just a few highlights of a very fun and exciting 2009-2010.

 Mr. Kauppinen is the school's Athletic Director as well as the Physical Education teacher. He has taught at Golden Hills School since 2000. He graduated from U.C. Santa Barbara with a Bachelor of Science in Law and Society as well as completing an the Athletic Coaching Certificate program. Mr. Kauppinen belongs to the American Alliance for health, Physical Education, Recreation and Dance.
