The GHS Hawks opened their 2010 season with a rousing 33-0 Varsity victory over Georgetown. The JV's fought hard but fell 6-0 surrendering the game's lone score on a punt return. The Hawks will be back in action next Thursday at home versus Markham.
Anne Jacobs captured a fine set of photos from both the Georgetown game and the previous week's CMP scrimmage.

The flag football team finished up the regular season with games at Herbert Green Middle School. Both teams weren't able to win, but played competitive games against probably the most talented team in the league.
The playoffs begin Monday at Pleasant Valley School. The 7th grade squad qualified for the playoffs with their 3rd place regular season finish. They will meet Markham Middle School in the opening round. The 8th grade team didn't qualify, unfortunately, so they will be home for the playoffs.
Both teams played hard throughout the season and were successful in many ways. Let's all give them a hearty congratulations on a solid season. |

Both flag football teams will be ending the regular season when they travel to Herbert Green Middle School October 1st for a pair of games. The powerhouse Miners will be looking to complete a perfect season for both of their teams. Currently, our 7th grade team is 4-1 and in 2nd place in the league. The 8th grade squad has yet to win, but have been close in games with their stout defense.
The playoffs begin the week of October 5th with days and times to be determined. Thank you for your support all season. Go Hawks!

The GHS flag football teams travelled to Markham Middle School in Placerville to play two football games. The JV team won 20-0 in a well-played game against a pretty good Panther squad. The victory makes them 2-0 on the season and off to a great start.
The Varsity squad didn't have the same luck. The Varsity Panther team is an experienced bunch with lots of talent. Our guys hung in tough despite some still remaining key injuries. They look forward to next week with two home games on the docket. A little home cooking should help our Varsity squad.
