High Schools are talking……………

Upcoming High School Visit Information

St. Francis High School will be at GHS for an informational presentation on Wednesday, September 15, 2010 at 11:30 am. Middle School parents and 7th & 8th grade students are encouraged to attend this meeting. St. Francis will hold an open house for prospective parents on Sunday, October 10, 2010 from 1:00 pm to 4:00 pm. GHS 8th grade students will have the opportunity to shadow on November 30th from 7:45 am to 1:20 pm.

Jesuit High School will be at GHS for an informational presentation on Wednesday, September 15, 2010 at 11:30 am. Middle School parents and 7th & 8th grade students are encouraged to attend this meeting. Jesuit will hold an open house for prospective parents on Sunday, October 17, 2010 from 12 noon to 3:00 pm. GHS 8th grade students will have the opportunity to shadow on November 30th from 8:00 am to 12 noon.

Christian Brothers High School will be at GHS for an informational presentation on Tuesday, September 7, 2010. 7th grade students and parents will meet at 9:15 am and 8th grade at 10:00 am. Christian Brothers will hold an open house on Sunday, October 3, 2010 from 11:00 am 2:00 pm. 8th grade students will have the opportunity to shadow on Tuesday, October 19th from 8:30 am to 11:30 am.

We have contacted the local public schools and their information is not ready at this time.

Varsity Football Opens with Big Win

The GHS Hawks opened their 2010 season with a rousing 33-0 Varsity victory over Georgetown. The JV's fought hard but fell 6-0 surrendering the game's lone score on a punt return. The Hawks will be back in action next Thursday at home versus Markham. Anne Jacobs captured a fine set of photos from both the Georgetown game and the previous week's CMP scrimmage. Eligibility: GHS Boys & Girls in grades 6, 7, & 8 Season: August 16th to October 7th First Practice is Monday, August 16th Practices: Pre-season: M - Th from 3:20 to 5:30 p.m. After season begins: M-W from 3:20 to 5:30 p.m. Coach: Mr. Kauppinen Registration forms and sports physical forms can be obtained from and returned from front office. Forms can also be found on website on forms page. Cross Country 2010 Season Is Here!

Come on out and have some fun! Eligibility: GHS Boys & Girls in Grades 2 through 8 Season: August 18th to October 6th Practice: Mondays & Wednesdays 3:20 to 4:45 p.m. The 1st practice is Wednesday, August 18th. When the season begins, practice will be on Mondays, with meets on Wednesdays and one meet on Friday. There may be additional practices as needed. Coach: Mary Crevelt Cross Country 2010 Meet Schedule Wednesday, September 8 at Rasmussen Park located in Cameron Park Early release for Cross Country Runners only at 2:25 p.m. Friday, September 17 at Union Mine High School Wednesday, September 22 at Mt. Creek Wednesday, September 29 at Holy Trinity Wednesday, October 6 (Finals) at El Dorado County Fairgrounds

Sports Registration and Athletic Program Medical Information

Each school year, students interested in participating in GHS sports must have their physician complete a GHS Athletic Program Participation & Medical Treatment Information form. This form is part of the GHS Athletics Registration & Physical form and only needs to be completed once each academic year. The Athletics Registration & Physical Forms can be found in the Parents section on the Information Bar above under Forms. A student must also complete the GHS Athletics Registration form for each sport in which s/he will participate.
